Produced in 1964, with the unaired pilot "The Cage". The
early episodes of Startrek are still to this day viewed by millions.
Though in the sixties, special effects where not to the standard
they are today, the series still managed to produced some remarkable
imagery.
Hard
to believe is the fact that most, if not all of the special F/X from
the show can be produced today on the average home computer. Infact,
the internet is filled with an assortment of artwork, produced by
fans. What makes this site any different from the other's you might
ask? It is my intention to produce all of my artwork in a way that
resembles the techniques used in the original shows as closely as
possible. Giving the impression that they could very well be from
an episode. Only images which receive the highest praise will ever
be chosen for entrance into the galleries.
STARTREK:
THE ORIGINAL SERIES
Based
upon a scene taken from the episode entitled "The Corbomite
Maneuver". In which an alien space probe, threatens the
Enterprise with lethal radiation.

This was my
first combination of Lightwave and photoshop. Here I've tried to
recreate the scene from
"Who
Mourns for Adonais". Where the greek god Apollo grab's
the Enterprise.

Looking
at new idea's, I decided to go for a new look. This is a scene you
would never have seen on the series. As the cost would have been too
expensive. But now, all you need is a home computer.

This is a scene
we see often in the series. Check the episode
"The
Ultimate Computer". This is one of my most recent images.
As I have been working on the bussard collectors (Orange starry
things). I'm now happy with there look, at last.

This
picture would go well with the starting words."Captains log
stardate....". For those who are keen nitpickers. All of
my titles are simply for my enjoyment. And not actual episode names.

The
Enterprise cruises along on it's journey. This camera angle was usually
used. For displaying the Enterprise firing Phasers or Photon torpedo's.

This
is the picture you should have seen. When the Enterprise left orbit
around the planet Vulcan.

Not
always the diplomat. Kirk could always find other methods to defeat
his foe. "Fire, Phasers!!"

This
is my interpretation of the great energy barrier. In this scene, the
Enterprise is chasing after a Klingon cruiser. And as we can see,
the Klingon ship is venting gas into space. Certainly an effect they
would have liked in the 60's.

This
goes back to recreating the all to familiar camera angle. That was
used in the series so often. I used photoshop to apply the green colonization
and some of the dark dab's on the ship.

For
the amount of times this shot was used. Do I really need to explain
why I wanted to recreate it?, I thought not. All in all I was fairly
happy with this image. The planet especially.

I was inspired to do this, after watching the episode with Khan
in. Where we get to see the Enterprise moved up along the Botany
Bay sleeper ship.

What
if Kirk had gone through with his order. When the Enterprise was threatened
by the god-machine Vaal?. Possible something similar to this. But
don't quote me on that.
